A cold front stalled across the Southern Region, bringing plentiful rainfall as it traveled offshore. Louisiana’s coasts accumulated over 10 inches of rainfall last week, and slow-moving lines of thunderstorms brought much-needed rainfall throughout west-central Texas. As a result, one-classification improvements occurred across Texas, Louisiana, and a few counties in Mississippi and Arkansas. However, areas that lacked long-term rainfall developed or worsened in drought. One-classification degradations occurred throughout the northern portion of the Southern Region.
